THE HISTORY OF LINCOLN MOTORS
The Lincoln Motor Company was originally launched all the way back in 1917 by a man named Henry M. Leland. Named after Abraham Lincoln, who Leland saw as a role model, Lincoln was meant to produce a higher class of vehicle for a higher class of customer. During the 1930s, Lincoln produced their famous 'Zephyr' model, inspired by the Burlington Zephyr, a streamlined diesel locomotive, and ignited a wave of sales success. Then in 1939, Lincoln launched the Continental, a car which architect Frank Lloyd Wright famously called "the most beautiful car ever made".
Throughout the 20th century, Lincoln was one of the leading luxury marquees with vehicles like the full-sized Navigator in 1998. The Lincoln MK-Series of vehicles launched in 2006 and since have become the path for innovative engineering and styling.
